Cyber security is one of the fastest growing sectors globally, according to the Australian Financial Review.

The Australian Cyber Security Growth Network forecasts the number of people employed in cyber security in Australia will increase by more than a quarter, to 34,000 people by 2024.

Gartner analysis estimates that global spending on cyber security increased from US $113 billion in 2017 to US $147 billion in 2020, a 30% increase.

The Australian government in 2020 announced it will be investing $1.67 billion over the next 10 years to help bolster the nation’s cyber security.

Due to the critical IT skills shortage, companies have been looking for people who are good at puzzle solving. Industries from banks to telecoms to defence, are all looking to hire people.

Those who have completed a Master of Information Technology And Systems (MITS) degree would be head and shoulders above many and could help you land that coveted job in cyber security.
