As an international student, you must be aware that you must fund your entire studies and living expenses independently. The Migration Regulations require international students to show evidence of funds to contribute to the cost of living and studying in Australia. This helps to ensure students are better able to make the most of their studies and have a safe and enjoyable experience in Australia.

While international students are able to supplement their income with money earned through part-time work in Australia, the ‘living costs’ requirement helps to support the success of students in their studies by ensuring that they do not rely on such work to meet all their expenses.

International student visa applicants and their family members must have access to the following funds to meet the living costs requirements:

  • Student (Main visa applicant): AUD 29,710
  • Student’s Spouse or Partner: AUD 10,394
  • Dependent Child: AUD 4,449
  • Child (5 years and above) AUD 17,951 (AUD 4,449 for Living, and AUD 13,502 for Annual School Costs)

Note: The costs provided are an approximate guide to give you a broad estimate of potential costs in Australia and were last updated November 2023.

VIT’s PPB and PPM are a set of short courses that allow learners to gain industry or discipline-specific skills and knowledge through a flexible learning approach. These short courses are referred to as micro-credentials or, in the case of VIT, a Pathway Program to Bachelor or Master’s.

If you are considering updating, upskilling or reskilling in a particular discipline/industry, or if you are simply exploring an interest area, then VIT’s PPB or PPM might be right for you. The program is also a great pathway to a Bachelor or Master’s at VIT.

Most of the modules in VIT’s PPB and PPM do not have any pre-requisites or require any underlying knowledge. If you are considering using this as a pathway to either a Bachelor or a Master’s qualification in the future it is recommended that you check the specific course entry requirements.

Most of the modules at VIT do not have any pre-requisites or require a specific knowledge base. It is recommended to check each specific module prior to enrolling.

Each module has a self-assessment that you can complete to receive a certificate of achievement. You also have the opportunity to group/stack your modules and complete a formal assessment in order to receive an academic credit towards a Bachelor or Master’s qualification. It is recommended that you check the specific course entry requirements.

The PPB and PPM modules are online self-paced short courses that give you the flexibility to study in your own time while not competing with your work and family commitments. The online modules are interactive and provide you with access to all the learning materials that you require to complete each module.

The term stackable refers to the ability to combine and/or group multiple VIT modules in order to receive academic credit towards a Bachelor or Master’s subject to eligibility.

VIT’s PPB and PPM program allow you to master specific skills and knowledge to help you develop your career and stand out from the crowd.

VIT’s PPB and PPM modules vary in length although the average module takes between 15-20 hours to complete. Each module outlines the time commitment required to complete and can be adjusted to your learning requirements. There is no time limit on how long you can take to complete a module.

Yes, all PPB and PPM modules are delivered in a self-paced and engaging digital learning environment. All required resources are available online meaning that you do not need to come on campus anytime throughout your studies.

Yes, all PPB and PPM modules are delivered online and are accessible anywhere in the world.

Once you have identified the module you would like to compete, simply register your details, agree to the terms and conditions and complete your payment. Once your enrolment has been completed you will be issued with your login details and you can commence your studies.

After you have completed your registration you will have the option of finalising your payment through a secured online payment system.

Unfortunately, no government funding is available for the PPB and PPM modules. However, if you are an Australian Citizen and would like to complete either a Bachelor or Master’s course at VIT, you may be eligible for Government FEE-HELP assistance.

If you require assistance and or have any questions please email: info@LAYG.com.au

Once you have enrolled into a PPB and PPM module you will have access to the learning content and learning materials until the course end date. After the course end date your learning content and learning materials will be accessible in a read only mode.
